Amy will be collecting data on your horses feet so a record can be kept to measure progress. Policies Horse Behavior Amy has the patience and understanding to help horses who are in pain and will do every thing possible to keep them as comfortable as possible during the trimming process for example; standing them on pads, giving frequent breaks, etc. Amy can not work on
horses who are obnoxious or spoiled as this puts everyone including
herself and the horse in danger of getting hurt. If the horse misbehaves
in a dangerous manner payment is still expected in full even if the job
could not be completed. If you need help training your horse to stand
quietly Amy Highly recommends
Clinton Anderson's Hobbling & Leg Restraints Video.
Done properly your horse will build respect and trust in having his feet
picked up and will learn emotional control. This will help in other
areas of your relationship together! During Fly Season please have fly spray available. Payment Payment is due at the time services are performed. Cash is preferred. Pay Pal is now accepted on our Pay on Line page. Pay Pal Payments must be made BEFORE 8am on trim date.Bad checks are charged a $30.00 bank fee and all subsequent payments Must be in cash. Appointments At the end of each appointment Amy will provide each client with a sticker indicating the date and time for the next appointment. It is the client's responsibility to remember the appointment. Amy WILL be there. If she is running early or late Amy will call to let you know. Amy cares for a lot of horses in various places near and far, She will do her absolute best to work within your schedule. Some Simple Logistics are as follows: 1. Horses in the same geographical area will be grouped together on the same day. 2. If there is a need for a special trip (any time other than the scheduled trim date in your area) there will be a surcharge of $0.50 per mile one way to cover the time and mileage. 3. Cancellations must be made with at least 24 hours notice. The rescheduled trip will be subject to a special trip fee of $0.50 per mile one way. 4. Missed appointments. If Amy arrives at the appointment time and date and no one is there to hold the horses or present payment and the horses cannot be trimmed without a handler; we must charge $1.00 per mile one way for the wasted trip and the rescheduled trip. With the rising
fuel prices, We are sure you identify with why we am now forced to
charge for special trips, missed appointments, and cancellations. Thank
you for y Between Appointments If you ever have any questions about your horses feet contact Amy immediately. In order to help your horse build the best possible hoof as quickly as possible please report any lameness to Amy. If your horse is "off" or limping and there is no heat or swelling above the hoof CALL AMY. If there is heat in the hoof Call Amy. Do NOT Call the vet for a hoof abscess. If you have the vet dig out the abscess you are taking away structure the horse has been working to build. It will also take far longer to rebuild & heal. If your horse has a bounding pulse or is standing rocked back in his heels call BOTH your Veterinarian AND Amy. Please Call Amy if you ever have Any questions. Full Rehabilitation If the horse owner does not have the time or convenience to rehabilitate their horse on their own, Amy does offer rehabilitation services where the horse would be trimmed as often as necessary and would get daily walking and exercise to rebuild weak structures. Rehabilitation would take place at Magnificat Farm in Clinton Corners, NY please feel free to contact us for more details:
